First, you need to decide on what your website is going to be about and do some keyword research before doing anything else. Ask yourself this question. Is the niche market I am going after, a buying keyword? If not, then keep searching. You want and need keywords that people will buy something online for.
Second, after you set up your website, you need to add content. But, not just any old content will do. Make sure you have your keyword in your title, your h1 tag at least and use your keyword a couple of times at least in your page or post. Just don’t over due it by stuffing keywords. You want to use them in the right way.
Third, the most important part in my opinion is getting quality back links. Get enough of them and you will be able to rank on page one and ultimately, number one position.
